About myself

I have a mother, a father, a sister and a brother. My mother is a teacher. My father is a driver. I go to school every day. Usually I have five lessons. My favourite subject is Maths. I am a good pupil. My hobby is swimming. I also like to read books and go for a walk with my dog Sam.

My Flat

Our flat is not big. There are three rooms in it. There is also a kitchen and a hall. There is a sofa and two arm chairs in the living-room. There is a round table and four chairs around it. We usually have dinner on Sunday in the living-room. My room is not big. It is small. In my room I have a bed, a desk, a chair and a bookcase. It is very light. I like to do my homework and read books in my room. In the kitchen there is a table, chairs, a refrigerator and a TV set. My family likes to have supper in the kitchen in the evening. I like our flat very much.

My toys

Children like to play with toy cars, building bricks or puzzles. Many children like dolls and dolls houses or dressing up, or other action figures like Power R angers. Teddy bears and soft toys are also very popular. Of course, one of the most popular activities today is playing computer games. Many of today’s toys use modern technology. You can get virtual pets to play with and look after, a toy robot or a teddy bear that speaks to you! My favourite toy is Winnie the Pooh. It has a black nose and black eyes, little ears, a red shirt with yellow writing that says ‘Pooh’ and a yellow body. His arms and legs move! He is made out of a soft material with a zipper at the back. His eyebrows are black.

My Pet

My favourite pet is a parrot. He is multicoloured: green, yellow, blue and red. He has a large beak, a short neck, two beautiful wings and a long tail. He has four toes on each foot two front and two back. Some parrots live longer than most dogs and birds. My parrot has a very loud voice. I teach him to talk. He knows many words and can talk well. He is playful, talkative and a great pet. He lives in the cage. He can eat almost anything human eats. I give him food and water every day. He likes fruit and vegetables. He likes to chew rubber toys, to fly, play and talk. I like my parrot because he is funny. He is a member of our family.

My best friend

My name is Maria. I am nine years old. I have got one best friend. She is Alice. Her hobby is drawing. Her favourite colour is blue. She likes eating ice-cream. I met her two years ago. We don’t fight. We both live in the same city. Her house is near the school, but my house is far from school. Her hair is short and my hair is long. We share secrets. She is very humorous. She always makes me laugh. She is kind, too. She likes to share her food with me. My birthday is on January, 5th and her birthday is on October, 4th. She is so cute. She likes to swing and I like to slide. I feel happy when I am staying with her. And she feels happy when she is staying with me, too!

My family

My name is Yura. My family is quite big. I ‘ve got two brothers and one sister. My brother Sergey is 14 years old. My other brother Tim is 5 years old. My sister Stella is 3 years old. We live with our mum, dad and our grandma. My grandma is 65 years old. My dad has black and grey hair and green eyes. My dad is a teacher. He doesn’t teach children. He teaches other people who work with him. My mum has long brown hair and blue eyes. She is a teacher, she teaches history at school. My aunt and uncle live near us and we visit them a lot. I’ve got three cousins. I play with my cousins after school and at the weekends. We have great fun!

My Summer Holidays

Summer holidays start in June and finish at the end of August. We don’t go to school and can spend a lot of time outdoors. In summer I can go to the river to swim with my parents. Sometimes we go to the forest with our friends. In August my family goes to the seaside. I like to spend time there. My sister and I go swimming a lot. My parents like to sunbathe. In the evening we go for a walk, play different games and read.

My Working Day

Every morning I get up at seven o’clock in the morning. I wash my face, clean my teeth, do morning exercises and get dressed. At half past seven I have my breakfast. I usually have a cup of tea and sandwiches for breakfast. I go to school at a quarter to eight. I have five or six lessons at school every day. I come home at three o’clock, have my dinner and do my homework. At five o’clock I go for a walk with my friends. In the evening my parents and I have supper. I always help my mother to do the washing up. After that I like to watch TV with my father or read books in my room. I go to bed at ten o’clock in the evening.
